I have used TVs for the capture of random custom content and am about to start on a site where I will be capturing a lot (volume) of data including detailed location/positioning information (think GPS fed datastreams). I was wondering about others impressions of when to shift to dedicated content tables versus the highly convenient single TV tables (where all custom field content is stored in a single table)?

My general rule of thumb is if it’s in the 100’s, TV’s will work, but 1000’s usually mean a dedicated data table producing dynamic views through a few pages.
