As I am looking for the CMS that suites my needs best, I today looked at MODx. And I got to say a really nice and clean CMS. The best one I tested so far.
I have to integrate some big php scripts, one that contains 5000 lines of code (split up in different files) generating one page.
What is the best way to integrate such a script into MODx? Modules?
Then I just created a module via the module manager, that simply echos "hello world".
How do I integrate it in the document tree, so that WayFinder can create a menu item for me? Or is there another way to get an menu item for my module?
In between, when will version 0.9.7 beta be released? ;-)

Modules are for adding functionality to the Manager. If you need something on the front end, snippets or TVs are the way to go.
With a snippet, you can simply include your external PHP file. The only thing to remember is that the snippet will be parsed using eval(), so you need to end it with a return statement, just as you would a function.
