Revolution hugging resources.

Quick question,does revolution take up a bunch of resources, I’m running the latest version on a share server and it takes a little longer then usual for the pages to come up and them I started getting an internal server error so I contacted the admins, they tell me the script was taking up too much resources, so the server would automatically shut php down or something of the sorts. Really thinking of going back to Evolution as I have never has a problem with it.

Never had that problem myself but it would help if you state all of your Environment information in your post: Version of MODx, Traditional or Advanced distribution (for Revo), Server OS, Server Version, PHP Version, MySQL Version (client and server), is pdo_mysql installed, your Browser type and version, if you are using any opcode caching such as eAccelerator, APC, winCache, xCache, etc; any relevant errors in core/cache/logs/error.log, and any other environment data we should know. We can’t help you without that information.

Revo does require more resources. That being said it also gets more efficient with each release. Not saying it will make the issue go away, but you should upgrade to 2.0.6-pl2.

Ok I think Im going to have to go back to Evolution, I upgraded the script to MODx Revolution 2.0.7-pl but I’m still having the same problem, taking up too many resources and the server shuts php down giving me an 500 internal server error >:( that and the TinyMCE editor seems to work better on evolution too :’(

If you’d provide this, we could probably help more. This seems like your server environment is misconfigured, causing the 500 errors. You probably want to get this fixed in the long run; it might prove to be a security issue down the line.

with all this said is there an easy way to go back to Evolution? or do I have to do a clean install and just redo all the page and content?
