Beginners guide to MODx Revolution

Hi guys,

I’ve been using MODx Evolution, and now Revolution for quite sometime, and I love it. I’ve launched lots of sites, and all of my clients love the admin system.

I’ve decided to try and give something back in the way of a series of tutorials. I know some exist already, but I couldn’t find a thorough Revolution tutorial for beginners, so thats what I’m doing.

So, feel free to check it out at http://blog.picseli.co.uk/2011/01/beginners-guide-to-modx-revolution-part.html.

Thanks!

Well done!
Looking forward to more...

The true basics - very nice.

Looking forward to the rest of the series That’ll definitely help people out there!

Added you to my list http://4up2date.info/modx-revolution.html
//missing you there? send me a pm!

Very nice.

Thanks for contributing.

You might mention that in Revolution, the site will be empty with no content and no add-ons -- that seems to freak some people out and they think they’ve botched the install.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the positive feedback! I remember when I first started using Evolution. I’m not sure I’d still be using MODx if it wasn’t for excellent beginners tutorial posted on the codingpad!

BobRay - I’ll amend the tutorial to show what the site will look like as soon as its installed. I can see why that would mislead some people! Thanks for the tip.

I’ve always said despite being a cracking piece of software, the best bit about MODx is the excellent community that goes with it. Its a pleasure to be a part of it!

Hello gents,

Just a heads up that we’ve finished Part 2 of the Beginners guide to Revolution, covering add-ons, system settings and a little bit on Templates.
