wierd quick edit issue - anyone know how to solve

As you can see, I don’t get the usual nice silver box for QuickEdit, but all that rubbish at the top of my page. Anyone know what this is... I don’t want to have to get rid of QuickEdit, but I’d rather do that than have that crap on my pages when logged in.

It’s definitely going to be conflicts between your stylesheet and the QuickEdit styles that get injected with the toolbar. You’ll need to be slightly more specific with your selectors to avoid the conflicts.

but on some pages, it works fine.... there is nothing as far as I can tell that is the same in the style sheet as the toolbar

are the pages that it doesnt work on inside a container like http://www.mydomain/PARENT/child1.html
and the pages is does work on in the root of the site http://www.mydomain/child1.html

if so Ive seen the same thing since I took the base url tag out of my templates (it was preventing anchors within the same document working correctly)

the pages themselves are containers. ffs - I will have to just get rid of the plugin.

You need the base tag in your templates for friendly alias paths to work properly and maintain a reasonably portable site definition. It is likely that QuickEdit depends on this to find it’s styles, as well. Take a look at the page source and it should be easy to tell.

Further, you can address how this affects anchors by using [~[*id*]~]#anchor or by doing a search for the AnchorsAway plugin.
