Ajax request returns fine in Safari, 404 in Firefox

I’m building out an upgrade to a site, and am using a bit of ajax to give the site some ’juice’.
I’ve got my pages setup using friendly urls so I can call pages like ’/mypage’

With some javascript, I make a call to ’/letter?id=a’
This returns the page which outputs data from a mysql select query.

In Safari this works perfect, but I am getting a 404 in Firefox. I can’t understand why modx can return the page to Safari, but not Firefox.

This is the page in question, if you click a letter, a list of titles will populate the main area.. in Safari at least.
I should note, I am using Prototype to handle the ajax requests, if that helps.

Never call a custom parameter "id="!
Friendly url rewites "/letter" to "/index.php?id=x", therefore "/letter?id=a" results in "/index.php?id=x&id=a"

Thanks for the tip - I guess it was one of the issues, the other being the page not published.
Oddly Safari was able to display it.
