We use Apollo for Project Management and CRM. While it is by no stretch a robust solution, it works well for us, is well priced and is actively developed (nice to have a company incorporate your suggestions in a 2-3 week time-frame). http://www.apollohq.com/?r=vtl97 (warning affiliate link).

If anyone starts working on a CRM based in MODX, we would be glad to help out.

Can you share some more information about what you did?
Sure - I was talking about Webinex, my webinar management extra. It's in the repository, and you can find it on github here: https://github.com/freejung/Webinex.

Basically it's an event management and registration system. You could definitely use it to manage meetups. It has custom resource and user classes designed to facilitate presenting events and accepting event registrations. It was designed for webinar management, but could be used for other types of events as well.

To briefly summarize the way it works, it uses a custom resource class to represent an event. This is linked to custom tables for storing multiple presentations of the same event, as well as associated presenters, documents, videos, and affiliates. It has a CMP for managing these custom tables. The custom user class (called Prospect) is used to track event registrants, with a custom table to store registrations which links prospects with event presentations.

I also have (unpublished as yet, but available on github) extras for sharing registration data with goToWebinar and Eloqua, and I would be willing to write other integrations as needed and as time permits.

I am looking forward to checking that out! Thank you.
