QuickEdit: Removing Snippet Call from Document Content

I am experiencing an issue when I edit a specific page with an uncached snippet call from the web site frontend using the QuickEdit plugin. QuickEdit is erasing the line of code that calls the snippet from the document content. This particular snippet parses a TextArea TV into HTML options to populate a select drop down. The idea was for the client to be able to edit the contents of the drop down without having to deal with the underlying HTML. Perhaps there is a better solution for this.

Has anyone else experienced issues along these lines?
