Quickedit, Why the new window?

I have been using a version of micro_cms that I have heavily modified for my clients. The main feature that I like, is once a user has logged in, specific areas of the page become editable. This is no big deal, but once a user clicks the edit button, instead of a new window, the div simply becomes editable with a tinyMCE toolbar at the top of the div. Since I am moving all my client sites to Modx once contexts become available, I would like this part of the user experience to remain the same. I am willing to pay for this development work.

It’s doable.. you could modify quickedit to wrap the editable areas in divs for example and then when edit is clicked, it would replace that div with a tinymce text editor instead of opening a new window. See the Commercial Inquiries & Bounties if you like to set up a bounty for this..

I love it already, though it would mean porting QuickEdit to jQuery or use the namespace thingy to avoid conflict with mootools...

I really hope ’edit in place’ makes it into future versions of modx.
