Intermittent Captcha

I have a problem with Websignup and Captcha. It intermittently fails to show the image, if you refresh the page it will show, if you continue to reresh, every now and then (about 1 in 5 times) it doesn’t show.

Also, is it normal that it add random numbers after the word? I used "test,test1,test2" as my captcha words in MODx config, yet the image shows things like "test520" & "test310"

Now and then I experience the same problem with Captcha. Because it’s on a site which gives me more problems, I thought it has to do with the server of the provider on which the site is on. Curious if there are more users experiencing the same problem...

I’ll create a brand new authorization system.
The project is starting next month.
Don’t expect just another login/auth system, you won’t ever need protection from bruteforcers or bots, they simply are not intelligent enough to crack my method of authorizing =)

currently there is not timeline, I don’t know when it’ll finish.

@Briggsy, I don’t use Captcha much myself or I could offer more help. What MODx release are you using? Have you checked the bug tracker? I believe some bugs related to this were just recently addressed in trunk, though not yet completely resolved... see specifically FS#869.

I had the same problem as you but with a old version of modx. Which version of MODx do you use?
I thought the radom numbers after the words I’ve used are a feature, not a bug.
But the displaying bug happened only once to me, when I used an old version of modx.

I was trying to give him hope with that issue.
The thread was opened on « on: April 04, 2007, 05:53:08 » and no one responded to it, I thought better telling him that there is hope than letting him in the rain. Is that wrong?..

Thanks guys. I’m using 0.9.5 and what’s really strange is I have another site running on the same server /setup (but 0.9.6-RC1) and realised it works fine.

I have copied the snippets and html from the working site to the non working one, and it still wont work. I would upgrade to 0.9.6 on the non working site, but 096-RC1 stops working with my Trace Watch plugin
