AjaxSearch and weird charaters

Hi,

I use Modx with the Swedish translation and when using the AjaxSearch I get weird character in the search results. Although some of the Swedish charaters are shown as they are suppose to, and some are not. My guess it that this is a translation problem? Have anyone experienced the same issue with other translations?, or have an idea of how to solve this?

ok, i figured it out myself
I changed the character decoding in the snippets config file from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1 and that solved it.
This might be help others that face the same problem.

I have encountered the same problem. But I don’t want to change my character encoding to iso just because of this.
I rather think this should be solved within the AjaxSearch Code. Other opinions?

Konsum, my believe is that the problem isn’t with AjaxSearch, but rather from inconsistent encoding across everything. This simply means that if you are using UTF-8 for the back-end and in your editor, you should use it everywhere. Make sure your database is configured for UTF-8 as well. I’m unaware if the swedish translation is available in UTF-8, but otherwise, you could probably convert it and share it with the rest of the community.
