Creating a snippet to retrive XML data from Shoutcast

I’m starting up a small internet radio station and I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to pull XML information from my Shoutcast server and into a MODx document. I have some PHP pages that already do it but I’m not sure how I would integrate it all into MODx with the variables and all.

Has anyone here attempted to do anything with Shoutcast and MODx or have any pointers about retrieving XML data in MODx?

I’ve done weather service’s XML, and it was no different than any other scripting job. Just write your .php file to deal with the xml file (getting it and parsing it if necessary), then include that in a snippet. Just make sure any output is returned; treat the snippet as you would a function.
