and another one for you list:
in evo a long snippet call must be in 1 line if enters/returns are used snippet fails.
Been bitten by most of those at some point. One minor observation is that it might be more useful (though less memorable, admittedly) to have them categorised by outcome, rather than cause. Although I guess the issue with ’no output’ is that it could be a variety of causes.
Other common ones to add (Revo)
- for aggregator snippets (Wayfinder, getResources, archivist etc) - make sure resources are published and you have set container and hidden parameters / resource settings logically the way you want.
- if you’re getting raw (array or default) output from a snippet when you expect something formatted, check the case/spelling of your tpl parameter(s)
and a great reminder from Shaun yesterday on another thread
- if your output filter isn’t working as you expect remember to call it uncached, eg: [[!+fi.error.name:notempty=`error`]]

[Revo] One that tripped me up just recently.
"Be aware of your context"
Much like JavaScript programming. When working across many many snippets , context and plugins ( most specifically in manager) always ask your. Am I in the proper context? Am I working in one context and staring at the expanded view of another? Remember the manager is a context too it’s just not in the list. Diff System events work across diff contexts.
"One of these days I will get around to my own website... Its only been about 12 years... maybe tomorrow

::Evo::
-This is fine: [[snippet?var=``]]
-Never use html entities as variable names!

The Impossible URL: <base href="[[!++site_url]]" />
Is it really important to add a ! in front of ++site_url?
Letti
I could be wrong, but I think it comes into play when you have multiple front-end contexts. It’s definitely required when you have users with a site_url User Setting in Revolution.
