How To Increase MODx Speed

Hello all,

I was curious, how does one go about decreasing MODx load times? My site loaded an average of 1-2 seconds before MODx implementation, but since installation it has been averaging 5-10 seconds Anyone know how to tweak speeds on MODx? I’m running a very limited amount of scripts on there right now. Here’s a link to my site so that you can test it yourself, thanks again!!

You mean decreasing load times

First way to speed up MODx is : enable cache for pages, and call snippet cached (with [[ ]] syntax, not [! !] -> be careful though that some snippets have to be called uncached).

Then, when you have a loading time problem, remove all snippet calls, desactivate plugins, and add them one by one to check who’s the culprit.

In your case though, I am not sure MODx is to blame... a look at this will certainly give you the answer :

Most of it is : images, as you can see.
You did not optimize your images at all !

Use an image editing application to compress those, it should help
