Newbie help on creating daily published content

Hello,
I am new to CMS and have experience in web design.
I have read and searched for the answer to my question, but maybe it is just too basic
I am setting up a site that I want content/commentary inserted automatically for each day in the same section.
I have a template created for my site but am not sure the best way to set up this daily entry efficiently.
What format should I set up my daily content in, with a set publish date? (chunk, tv, document, etc.)
How do I call this up from my main template?
I just need someone to point me in the right direction!

If you are creating resources (pages) that you want to be displayed at a certain date/time, use the publish/unpublish date pickers for the resource.

Ditto (Evolution) and whatever it is Revo uses for a "news" or "blog" listing (sorry, I don’t use Revo and forget its name) will respect the publish/unpublish status. In this case, the snippets should be uncached (since they need to re-create their aggregations every day to catch the newly published resources).

Are you using Evo or Revo?

Revo. I added the package and am now looking at how to incorporate it. I have a lot to learn but am enjoying the process. Is there a tutorial that you recommend?

I think Susan is referring to the ’getResources’ which replaces Ditto in Revolution.

Even if you are using Revolution I would have a quick read of the tutorial on Evolution here: http://codingpad.maryspad.com/category/modx/
The basics of Evolution can be applied to Revolution just with different extras.
