HTTP 406 Not Acceptable error when site is offline

    Hi

    When I set my site to offline I get a HTTP 406 Not Acceptable error in IE8.

    I think this has only just started happening.

    The site displays perfectly when I’m logged in through the manager!

    Any ideas?

      What are your Site Unavailable Page and Site Unavailable Message set to?
      If Site Unavailable Page is set to a resource id, does the resource exist and is it published?
      I have tried to replicate this problem using IE8 on a "Site Off" site, and it seems to work fine for me.

        I have tried it with the standard ’The site is currently unavailable.’ message,
        and also with the resource id of a published and exsisitng page.

        The only thing that works, is if I set the Unavailable page to a web redirect id, then the site will direct to another
        webpage.
