    Hi all,
    that site http://www.pandolfinisrl.com/ is getting a 500 internal server error when validating with Google webmaster tools and W3C, but it render ok in the browser.
    Is not a dns problem, in my opinion. So it should be something in the code?
    Any suggestion?

    I use modx 1.0.2 on debian linux

      46 Errors if you paste the source code into the validator.
      <? echo(date("Y"); ?>

      May be causing the problem.
      If that comes from a snippet then try the long code version i.e.
      <?php echo(date("Y"); ?>

      If you tried using the PHP direct in the template, then remove it, you can’t do it that way, it must go in a snippet.

        Could you please give us some further details, what snippets/plugins are in use on your site? If you have SEO Strict URLs try turning that off, it caused issues on one of my sites as well.

        The 500 error is being sent to browsers as well, they just still display things. That issue will prevent google indexing your site, so let’s get the details and see if we can’t fix it.

          I used to get a 500 error for Bob’s Guides at WC3. If I retried, it always worked. Mysteriously, it happened every other time I submitted the URL -- 500 error, no problem, 500 error, no problem -- ad infinitum. It didn’t keep Google from indexing the site and it never showed up in a browser, AFAIK.

          I never did figure it out, but it seems to be gone now.

            I’ve turned off SEO friendly urls but the problem is still there.
            The browser get a 200 response, not 500 like w3c validator and googlebot.

            I use several jquery plugins but I do not think they could be responsible for the internal server error.

                You likely have a PHP error that is causing this; check your Event Log in the manager.

                      yes, I try to open index-ajax.php - 200.
                      Any messages in site’s error.log?

                      in the error nothing significant, only 3 images missing in css files.

                      Any other suggestion?
