    Hello,

I am trying to upgrade my modx cms version from 0.9.6.3 to 1.0.0.

0.9.6.3 was working perfectly - now I am getting errors on the manager page (there is no login box shown) - and am unsure what to do to fix it.

I ftp’ed the modx 1.0.0 files to the server.

I worked though the modx upgrade steps (I had to make config.inc.php writeable otherwise it wouldn’t let me upgrade).

But when I access the manager login page I receive the following errors:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ’’’ (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home/public_html/manager/includes/lang/english.inc.php on line 963

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/public_html/manager/includes/lang/english.inc.php on line 963

Any ideas on how I can fix this??

I will be ever so grateful.

    Thank you kindly in advance.

An ASCII 39 is a single quote character. That file might be corrupted. Take a look at the file /manager/includes/lang/english.inc.php.

Check the end of the file, maybe it got truncated or munged in the transfer.

In the version I have, that line contains: upload_maxsize_message. Try searching for that.

Thanks BobRay - thats exactly what it was!!!

I actually had to reupload about 10 of the language files as they did indeed get munged in the transfer

Thank you so very much - you are a life saver.

          I’m glad it worked. smiley

If I were you, I’d reupload everything. No telling what else it messed up.
