We’re pushing out MODx 1.0.1 next week, but we want your help to make sure it works in your environment. Along with many updates and bugfixes, 1.0.1 brings:

    • security enhancements,
    • a new installer,
    • improvements to the Site Tree,
    • Manager skin tweaks and overall usability improvements,
    • Quick Manager+ improvements, and
    • Manager Manager in the core distribution.

1.0.1 should be considered a required update for anyone running MODx. The security updates continue our quest for creating the most reliable and safest software possible, while bugfixes and enhancements make for a more intuitive experience for end users and a more robust platform for developers.

Please test specifically for any new bugs in the Manager or incompatibilities with Add-ons. Also please review your native languages and post any updates to those over the weekend to JIRA marking the issues as "Affects 1.0.0" we’ll incorporate any language updates for the final release early next week.

Get it on our Downloads page under Release Candidates and feel free to discuss in this thread.

Please be aware that due to extensive changes in the Manager code, ManagerManager doesn’t currently work with 1.0.1 - but work is underway to make it compatible. Watch this space...

Nick, the 1.0.1 release is built off the 1.0 release, and contains a tested and working ManagerManager. The Manager layout/markup changes itself will be done in a later release.

Ah, so RC is not built from the 1.0.1 SVN branch?

@Eol: It has been taken from the 1.0.1 SVN branch (which was created from the 1.0 branch) - I think Ryan meant it’s a progressive update on the 1.0 Evo GA release.

Yes it is, but merges from branches/1.0 were done before releases/1.0.1-rc-1 was tagged from branches/1.0.1 -- this is what Ryan was referring to.

                Gladly.

Have a little concern. Is it possible to roll back to v1.0 with the same database just in case something is broken? I am building a site, think it’s a good opportunity to test the version, however I have a preview deadline on Monday (client is desperately wanting to see progress), therefor need to be a bit careful to install the v1.0.1

It’s never a good idea to revert to an older version unless you backup the database and the files to restore. There are some subtle database changes in 1.0.1, so I would recommend trying it out without working directly on a live site, or at least be prepared to revert the database if you encounter problems that cannot be resolved quickly.

                    [#MODX-929] duplicated in the changelog.

And this fix is missed (but exist in the changelog) http://svn.modxcms.com/crucible/changelog/modx/?cs=5629 [#MODX-1099]
