Ok, I have had a "blog" in MODx for some time and the number 1 thing that made me lose faith in it is the fact that it doesn’t get picked up in blog searches.
I’ve tried manually pinging it, and it has never been recognized as an actual blog.
Does anyone know what technical details it’s missing that causes this?

Ummm. . . recognized where (or by whom)? Is there an international blog recognition committee I’m not aware of.

to make a long story short, when I post a new entry to the blog built with ditto, etc... it never gets picked up by Google Blog Search (which is time based).
When I make entries with Wordpress, they get picked up almost immediately.
Like i said, even when I ping manually, it NEVER shows up alongside other blogs.
The question is: what’s the difference.
PS: My RSS feeds work as expected, so that’s not the problem.
Ah. That’s an excellent question. I actually saw an answer to it recently by OpenGeek, but unfortunately I can’t remember it. I just looked for it and couldn’t find it. IIRC, it was in a post about putting page content in the database rather than having a searate document for each post.
