If you’re willing to PM or email me with a temporary Manager login for one of the offending sites, I’ll check it out.

Any thoughts sottwell? Did you get my login details? Honestly though, I think it’s a setting or something on my mac. I’ve got parallels running right now on my mac and I’m currently using safari and FF on my windows xp install. So far I haven’t had any problems updating any modx install. I’m almost positive now that the problem is with my network settings or something on the Mac end. It could also be a router or ISP thing depending on how information is set differently.

Oh and sorry everyone for all the duplicated and empty posts. For some reason my browser wouldn’t allow me to reply, it was creating new posts somehow. Ugh... I don’t know anymore...

Almost sounds like some kind of cookie problems with your browser. If all is well with a different OS and browser combination, then I’d say it’s definitely something to do with your Mac configuration.

I’m sorry, I just got a flurry of emails and PMs for help, as well as a couple of client panics, and I’m afraid your details got lost in the general confusion.

I did speak too soon. I’m having the same errors on my Windows XP set up. Plus, my clients are having issues. And it seems as though there are others experiencing this odd behavior.

Sorry to resurrect such an old post, but I am have a very similar issue and was wondering if cbaone ever got this resolved?

In my case, I can use the manager to edit and save pages without issue. However, when my client saves documents the manager will then drop the icon from the tree and hide all template variables (including content). Looking at the database, it appears that when the client saves a document the ’content’ and ’contentType’ fields are set to empty string. Manually changing them back to ’document’ and ’text/html’ respectively fixes the issue. Of course, the next time the client saves it happens all over again. As I mentioned, I cannot recreate this behavior on one of my machines (XP,Win7,Ubuntu). The client is using an XP machine and has tried IE8 and FF.

I’ve walked the client through the edit/save process on the phone step by step with the same result, so I don’t think there is any pilot error contributing to the issue.

I’m almost 100% certain this problem relates to a internet filtering application I had installed - Bluecoat K9. If you have any filtering program or possibly even an anit-virus program running you might want to investigate there.

That totally makes sense. Thanks so much for the clue. I’ll post back here after I get a chance to test with the client.
