Downloaded 1.02 to day, and installed it as an upgrade over 1.01. But to my horror and surprise the sample data was installed, even though it was not checked for. The result, corrupt data.
Someone else with the same problem?
Is 1.02 safe (I need another upgrade soon)?

The only time I’ve seen that almost happen is if you pass that step of selecting the sample data and then hit the option to go back because you needed to correct something, the sample data gets selected automatically. Happened to me when I was setting up to install a site for a client. I went past that step, made sure sample site was unchecked, then at the next step I got a warning that config.inc.php didn’t exist. So after creating it I clicked the back button (at the bottom of the page), and this time sample site was selected automatically without me selecting it.
Maybe something like this happened to you too? Mine was on a fresh install though, not sure if the same would happen on an upgrade.

Did a new upgrade, from .0963 to 1.02. No problems!
(I’ve done it before several times, also without any problems).

As far as I can remember I did click the backbutton during the upgrade that went wrong. This might be the (a) problem.

Please file a bug report for this in JIRA. Definitely a problem if repeatable.

By any chance did you do this install on Bluehost using SimpleScripts??
I just tried do a new install with SimpleScripts on Bluehost, to see if they’ve gotten their problems fixed. The good news was that 13 snippets showed up this time. The bad news was that the sample data was installed whether or not I selected that option.
So, I sent them another note of course ...

UPDATE : Of course, I appear to have spoken too soon. In addition to incorrectly installing the sample data, they don’t appear to be installing "Listindexer" and "Ditto". Unless these are dropped from Evo 1.0.2...
