I upgraded from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2 and now i cannot login into the backend. The login screen doesn’t go away after entering login credentials. However, i do get "incorrect uid / password" message when entering a bogus login. So it does recognize the correct password but just refuses to let me in.
I saw exactly the same problem discussed about Revolution but there was not clear answer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you try the recover pass functionality?
Not sure what you mean. I can always roll back to the previous version from our SVN repository but i would like to upgrade to the latest.
Sometimes clearing your browser cache can resolve this.
I cleared all browser cache, re-ran the update, cleared the cache again. The same problem. Login page stays opened after logging in.

One cause of that is having memory_limit set too low. Do you know what that setting is?

i got 256Mb memory limit. is that too low? I’ve been running 1.0.1 without any problems.

That seems unusually large, actually. A lot of hosts set it at 16M or or 32M.
I think it takes more memory for the install than to run MODx, but if you really have memory_limit at 256M, that’s not your problem.

this is my own linux devbox, so the resources are not the problem.

Checking permissions is always worth doing (and clearing the browser cache and cookies).
Are you sure the new files always overwrote the old ones? Some people have had trouble with FileZilla and other FTP programs not overwriting existing files.
