Document Tree Not Fetching Children [FIXED!]

I maintain 5 separate installations of Evolution (1.0.1 - 1.0.2) and they all have this issue:

Upon expanding a parent (hitting the ’+’ button) children don’t load in automatically. The solution is to (while the parent is open) click the ’refresh’ button at the toolbar above the document tree.

Literally - when clicking the ’+’ - the items below the parent drop a line - and the parent id drops to the line below the opened parent.

This is an inconvenience - but a particularly annoying one. Is there any way for the document tree to load children automatically? (This is what I witnessed earlier versions doing effectively.)

Verified in current versions of Safari, Firefox and Chrome.

I’ve got several of these (1.0.1 - 1.2) in different places, and they all work just fine (FF and Safari)

My site is running 1.0.1; log in as guest - guestuser, and see if that one works for you (as it does for me)

Curious. I’ve just started having that exact problem in an old MODx 0.9.6 install.

Thanks for the tip about refreshing the tree, I thought I had docs that couldn’t be edited.

Are you using MS Vista or Lunarpages?

That is very strange...while refreshing the tree does display the tree, it shouldn’t be doing that.

Any chance this is a permissions thing - or a php config thing? I’m having trouble isolating the processes that the tree relies on.

It seems to me it would be a JS thing, but I don’t know what Lunarpages could have done to affect that.

If it were permissions or PHP config, I don’t think they’d display at all, even on refresh.

I assumed that upgrading to 1.0.x would fix it. I guess not. :’(

That’s what I thought - but in reverse. Modx 9.6 worked fine - it’s only Evolution that seems to have this problem for me.

(I don’t suppose it’s possible that the console would have anything helpful - i found this stuff in safari and FF)

Umm .. you’re not on the Endor server by any chance?

default_charset - no value ??

zlib.output_compression - off

I do have one folder with about 85 docs in it.
