You don't have permission to access /manager/index.php on this server.

I have a site that has been working just fine for months, all of the sudden, when I try to make any changes, I get the error:


There is nothing in the System Event log that is related to this, just a few path errors from long ago when working on a snippet. I can browse anything in the manager like normal, just can’t make any changes. the perms on /manager/index.php are 755. The httpd log shows nothing abnormal.

I am a bit stumped - I have contacted the host and they claim they have made no changes to the system or software.
