What’s the best way to get the 1.0.5 development version

I’d like to get my hands on this as well. Github I would presume, but I’m not finding anything relevant.

Go to https://github.com/modxcms/evolution/tree/develop and there is a download button to get an archive of the latest commits to the develop branch.

So it’s still named 1.0.4? That’s the latest download on that page (which is why I was asking).

The two download buttons under "Download source" will give you the most recent files from that branch. (i.e. the branch as of the most recent commit). I just double-checked by downloading, and checking manager/includes/version.inc.php and it did say 1.0.5.

Ah. Got it. Didn’t notice the buttons above the links!
