contexts or running multiple subdomains from the same manager

Hi,

I’m looking for information on where to start building a multi-subdomains site that is managed with one manager.
Basically the sites will have almost the same documents/resources but filtered with some checkboxes. For example a resource will have a checkbox TV and if checked it will show on one subdomain but not the other.

Another solution might be to use the modx class + some custom coding.
