Lets say I have a resource group called "documents".
I then associate a handful of resources to the "documents" resource group.

Later I find that I don’t want that resource group. If I delete the "documents" resource group, MODx will not delete the actual resources that belong to the resource group correct?

Just making sure I’m not doing long-term damage smiley

    Thank you for your time!

      Go ahead, you’ll be fine.

If you want to test first, create a new resource group and some new resources. Add them to the group, then delete the group. The resources will survive. wink

Note, though, that if you delete a container document, its children will be deleted too (but you’ll get a warning first).

As further reassurance, deleted resources remain in the tree until you delete them by clicking on the little garbage can. Until then, they can be undeleted at any time. smiley

I did create some files locally and do exactly what you stated before I did it to my site. But, I thought... mmmaaaayybe I just got lucky. I knew I would be ok deleting the group but just had a shade of doubt that I misunderstood the role of resource groups. Thank you BobRay!
