some pages in root don't display now we are 1.0.4

I upgraded us to 1.0.4 from 1.0.2
I made config 777 as indicated on other post here and used the upgrade option.

since then some of my pages that are in the root don’t display unless they have children

can anyone suggest a fix or somthing to look out for as this is very baffling.
I have reinstalled twice and boss very unahppy now....

php=5.2.13 mysql=5.0.91 linux server running apache 1.3.42

we also use friendly urls which was the case with 1.0.2

When you say "don’t display", do you mean just white / blank pages, or 404 error messages? Try clearing both the browser and MODx cache. Check if you have accidentally unpublished some pages. Do those buggy pages have anything in common? i.e. just one type of template affected?

What you can also try is to disable every single snippet + plugin that you don’t need, one by one.

We have no page and a blank "server" 404 error page.

However the 2 pages that do work in the root (other than hoem) are both plain text.
I will take a look at the removal snippets idea...

I wonder why that would make a difference ??
Could it be that it is looking for resources in the wrong place or just stopping the manager from delivering the content ?

Are you logging in as the admin manager? If not are there permissions settings related to who you are logging in as that could affect how the tree is viewed?
Is there a URL you can point us to?
