Move to https and return to http

I don’t know if i’m posted mt doubt in the correct forum.
But I’m using the 1.0.4 modx version and I installed the SSL 1.0-GA plugin and doesn’t work...

I do the stpes below:

I installed the plugins, I created the encryption TV with type= checkbox and default value (Yes==1)
and in the template I put <base href="((secure.server))" />

And When I go for the security area the url change for https but I get 404 page...

Could you explain me why!!?
