Strange error message on failed Manager login???

Indeed, it’s worth repeating: MODx has nothing to do with corrupted database tables. This is purely a problem with the database server. It can also happen if the server is overloaded, so it happens more often on shared web hosting servers where upwards of 400 websites can be stuffed onto the same server. And it isn’t restricted to MySQL databases, any database can get corrupted.

A kind, trusted member of this forum offered to look into this for me. This he did, and he then copied the effected tables from one of his own sites and dropped them into my database. A password change had to made but the site is now functioning and I can login again. I have no idea what caused this and my attempts at repairing these tables was obviously not the answer.

Lately I have been more focussed on photography, but I need to get back to MODx and hopefully get more comfortable with Revo...

to go with Susan on the hosting problems, i recently had to move two websites that were at a wellknown canadian hoster because suddenly everything went wrong with these websites that were working perfectly before and their customer service, though absolutely friendly, didn’t seem to understand a single tech word...
Moving them to another hoster i work a lot with, not changing a single comma in MODx code, and everything worked fine again...

times are a bit hard those days in php/mysql world with a lot of compatibility and configuration problems and only the really good hosters (technically speaking) manage to deal with this without problems, MODx does...
