I think the 2 really great things about the MultiPhoto plugin are:
1. It is really easy for the end user to add/delete entries and sort them by drag-and-drop. This would be ideal for those times when a new resource for each new item is unnecessary, and using the WYSIWYG editor is too limiting.
2. The output can be easily controlled with &outerTpl and &rowTpl via chunks.
If you’re basically creating something where you want a list that a user will edit/add to regularly, the above would be perfect. Whether that is a list of stockists, or events, or downloadable PDFs, custom tv functionality that would facilitate that would be invaluable.
The only problem with the MultiPhoto plugin, and it’s not really a problem but more the limitation of the designer/developer in my case, is that without some decent coding chops it is quite hard to bend it into shape to do what you want (apart from displaying photos).
I will try and get this working myself, and will post it here if I get anywhere, but it might be a long wait ...
