Magic_quotes and backslahes, no way to turn off

Hello!
I’m finding solution for stop creating of backslashes before quotes for last couple of weeks. My big problem is, that I have no access to server and I have no chance to contact administrator to turn the magic_quotes_gpc off.

Is there some other possibility, how to stop creating backslashes before quotes?

I’m ashamed, becouse I work as a programmer, but I get a project of very old web sites, they are created in modx 9.6.0, working on PHP 4.3.2 and until I force owner to get new webhosting to run modx revo I have to work out this problem. Actually there is some problem with TinyMCE, which is broken and I can’t get it to work again. But now it’s very hard, to make some changes in system and I have to correct all this stuff right in database...
