500 Internal Server Error when updating to MODx 1.0.0rc

    Trying to upgrade to 1.0.0 RC Evolution from 0.9.6.3 but an getting this error in log files when I open "http://www.domain.com/modx/install/":

    Premature end of script headers: /home/domain/public_html/modx/install/index.php
    SoftException in Application.cpp:252: File "/home/domain/public_html/modx/install/index.php" is writeable by group

    Operating system Linux
    MySQL version 4.1.22-standard
    PHP version 5.2.9 (32MB)
    Apache version 1.3.41 (Unix)

    I’ve checked all permissions according to the upgrade guide and disabled htaccess file.
      Mostly harmless.

      Sounds like mod_security. Try changing the permissions to 644 for files and 755 for directories.

        Ah, mod_security rings a bill. Seem to remember there was a htaccess trick to this one as well. Changing permissions did trick, thanks.

        Like the carbon theme. Much welcome change after the glare factor of MODxLight.
