My website is coming up with a 404 page not found error when i submitt it thru a validator. It shows up fine on the web with the exception of just a few times but everytime i run it thru any given validator it shows the error. someone told me it had to do with the php and the mod rewrite, but i’m not a designer or anything so i need help figuring out what it is to pass it on to my designer for him to fix it.
    Thanks in advanced.

Are the pages actually published? Log out of the manager and access the pages: Do you see 404 pages as well? Maybe post a link here?

Is what Live HTTP Headers is reporting, rest of the files, images etc. all report 200 OK.
If you use http://websitefox.com/home.html it will go to the validator with 21 errors.
Maybe something to do with FURL and your .htaccess file perhaps?

Was this resolved? I have a site with the same problem.

Edit: Never mind, I just remembered (with help of the French and Russian forums and google translator wink ) what was causing this. Wasn’t this the old search highlight plug-in problem! grin
