I had an idea sooner today : visual chunks/snippets. They would be drag and drop components for the WYSIWYG editors that relate to chunks and snippets.

Visual chunks/snippets would be simple HTML/CSS/JS definitions. Types would be based on MODx input types and display as such. Names would be specified as usual [[+var]]. The visual component would be specified in an additional tab while editing chunks/snippets.

    Visual component definition:
    Image
Size <input type="text" name="[[+sizey]]/>
Caption
Align <select name=[[+align
       Right
       Left

I hope something similar to this hasn’t been posted yet. I’m no hardcore programmer, these are just ideas I’m pitching in, if anything doesn’t make sense, discuss it ! smiley

Do you mean the way snippets display their properties in a window (while defined by the coder) when you drop drop into your content/chunk area ?

Chunks (any Elements) do this too. You can add properties to Chunks to make them show fields, too.
