MODx 2.0.6-pl traditional, gallery 1.0.2 - rc 1
I recently updated my local system to gallery 1.0.2 and made the dumb mistake of copying the gallery files up to the remote server.
The gallery on my remote server doesn’t work and when i try to uninstall it i get errors referring to my LOCAL paths, e.g. c:\xampp\htdocs... but i can’t figure out where the uninstaller is getting these paths from (I changed the gallery paths in the system settings on my remote server but the uninstaller still complains about my local paths.)
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Steve
MODx 2.0.6-pl
i’m getting the path error (see above post) when trying to uninstall ANY package
It may be a procedural error on my part.
Normally i work locally, export the MySql database from the local server, import it to the remote server and change any paths.
This always works in Evolution but i’m not so sure it will in Revolution. So far the only thing i have found to be a problem is trying to uninstall a package.
I did notice that in my database in the "_workspaces" record there is a field named "Default MODx workspace" and its value is set to my LOCAL path.
I can’t see anywhere in the system settings to change this.
Questions:
Is this a problem?
Might it be why i can’t uninstall packages (I was able to install them originially without a problem using the package manager)
Thanks,
Steve
Thank you Ric.
I ended up doing a "refresh" of MODx 2.0.6-pl and that seemed to fix the problem.
Now i need to update to MODx 2.0.6-pl2.
Thanks again for your help!
Steve

I always run setup in upgrade mode - that checks permissions and updates paths.
There’s already 2.0.7 with massive speed improvement - update to that
Hi folks!
I have the same big problem.
Already upgraded to 2.0.7. Moved from local to remote server today, and now it’s impossible to uninstall gallery package (yes, it stopped working after moving to remote server).
I tried to run setup again but it didn’t work for me.
Any suggestions?
thank you all
ec,
see Ric’s reply about 3 above - below is a step by step which worked for me
- select the database using phpMyAdmin
- click on the record called xxxyy_workspaces in the left column. That will open the record in the center of your screen
- put a check mark next to the record and then click the pencil icon to open the record. I believe you will only have 1 record and its name will be "Default MODx workspace"
- change the path field to the proper location - something like "/home2/public_html/core/"
I believe you will have to make this change each time you upload a new database from your local server.
After making the change you should be able to uninstall and reinstall any of the packages.
