I uploaded Revolution RC-1 to my Site5 shared server and when I attempted to install, it gave the following error:
FATAL ERROR: MODx Setup cannot continue.
* MODx requires the PDO extension when native PDO is being used and it does not appear to be loaded.
* MODx requires the pdo_mysql driver when native PDO is being used and it does not appear to be loaded.
The server information is as follows:
Hostname bryett.site5.com
Operating system Linux
Linux kernel version 2.6.27-grsec4
Apache version 2.2.11
Perl version 5.8.8 (more info)
PHP version (more info)
MySQL version 5.0.89-community-log
Path to Perl /usr/bin/perl
Path to sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail
Here is the configuration, which indicates that pdo extensions are enabled, yet Revolution install seems to think they are not there.
Any help would be appreciated.

Revolution requires PDO and a PDO_mysql driver to be enabled in the PHP configuration. BTW, your PHP version is blank...
Sorry about the blank for PHP. It is PHP Version 5.2.8
Also, the configuration information seems to indicate that PDO is enabled and also the mysql_pdo
’--enable-pdo=shared’
’--with-pdo-mysql=shared’
’--with-pdo-sqlite=shared’
I’m not really an expert at reading the PHP information but wouldn’t that indicate that it is installed? If it is installed, can you think of any configuration issue (file permissions, .htaccess issues, etc.) that would prevent the Revolution installation from being able to access the pdo drivers?
Thanks.
This is now resolved. I asked my ISP, Site5, for help and they created a php.ini file with the following parameters:
extension=pdo.so
extension=pdo_sqlite.so
extension=sqlite.so
extension=pdo_mysql.so
That did the trick. Modx Revolution installed very quickly with no errors after that change was made.

Glad to see you got it working. You are like the third person in as many weeks from Site5 with that issue. I do not know why anyone would not simply enable all of the requirements as a default config. I don’t know anything that Revo is using that is not considered somewhat standard -- and has been for some time.

It’s interesting you’ve noticed issues with Site5, I was able to install RC1 (Advanced) without any special settings. Do you know what server your on by any chance?
