I have tried CKEditor, TinyMCE, and EditArea with Revo. I find that when I code, I work in Source (html) mode most of the time. I can’t seem to get either of the wysiwyg editors to a) default to being in source mode, and b) not place <p> tags around my code.

Of the three choices, EditArea most closely matches the way I work, but I am very frustrated with the integration. When it works, it’s fantastic, but often when I try to edit a resource, chunk or snippet, the editor comes up blank, and I have to keep reloading my browser until the content is displayed. One time I accidentally hit the "save" button when the editor had come up blank, and I blew away hours of code.

Am I missing a decent editing solution? The features I like the most in EditArea is the ability to easily indent/outdent my code, and the way it can display php code with color applied to key words etc.

    Sincerely,

    Ed Hoskins

The RTE add-ons for Revo are in early development. If you work in source mode, why even use an RTE?

Although I work in source code most of the time, it would be nice to be able to switch over to a wysiwyg editor on occasion when I need one. I was just saying that it would be nice if the default mode was source. Do you primarily use the editor that is built in?

I think the latest CKEditor lets you default start in source mode, but that’s untested.
