For those of you interested in utilizing this feature they key to it (and all things Modx) is to not over think it.
Understand what a Symlink does
A revolution symlink simply takes the content of one resource and displays it in another. You can add a new template or what ever changes you may want to the symlink, but you can not add additional content.
How do I use this feature?
1) Create the symlink with a name, an alias and a reference to the "master" document itself.
2) If you do not see it -- try clearing the site cache.
3) Or you can simply follow the example in the attachment.
