Turn eAccelerator off during the install. (It’ll work fine normally, just it seems to cause errors during the install process. Most likely because of the PCLzip stuff.)

Thank you for the reply.
I disable eaccellerator from ht.access:
php_flag eaccelerator.enable 0
php_flag eaccelerator.optimizer 0
But it doesn’t work. Also, i tried to import database created locally but still got 500 error
Updated:
I activated eaccelletator in mamp (local php/mysql for mac) and the installation got right just out of the box.
I used the same memory setting in both local and remote (64mb ram, 30 sec max time)
Maybe litespeed is incompatible with modx beta 4?

Check with your host to see if you can put php flags in the .htacess. I understand hostgator and some others do not permit it -- believe it to be a cpanel thing -- that part is only a guess.
Also, if you can put the flags in the file make sure it is named .htaccess and not ht.access
