    Hi,

    I have had a pretty rotten sad day trying to figure out why something in my comp/server environment won’t let revo install. I am unable to install both revo beta 1 and svn revo. I was really hoping to start testing the new addon "getResource"

    The install proceeds until the last "install button" and then I get the following error.

    Connection Interrupted

    The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

    The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

    If I try to reinstall using upgrade, clicking the last "install" button does nothing; the page does not proceed.

    Looking at the database, I see 54 tables inserted. If I navigate to the manager, or front page, I get the same error above. For revo SVN, I followed the normal installation procedure (in this case for a new install).

    Tested in FF, Safari, and Iron (basically chrome).

    My environment:

    Apache HTTP Server 2.2.11
    PHP 5.2.10 (with a moded php_mysql.dll and php_mysqli.dll for use with MySQL 5.1.30+ and PHP 5.2.9+)
    MySQL 5.1.35
    phpMyAdmin 3.2.0
    php mem limit = 128mb
    max_exec_time = 30
    safe_mode = off
    register globals = off
    XP
    Tortoise SVN

    All the above server apps are standalone installs (i.e. not bundled in wamp2 server or xampp, etc)

    Evolution (both RC1 and SVN) and 0.9.6.3 are all installed and work fine. My document root is in a different directory from Apache’s htdocs. This is specificed in the httpd.conf file. My windows "hosts" also has entries for the virtual hosts.

    The virtual hosts are www.revosvn.local and www.revotests.local respectively.

    I have googled the above issue and none of the solutions have worked; there’s a myriad of reasons why this could happen, including a messed up "hosts" file. Even tried with firewall off thinking there could be a connection there.

    Previously I had a WAMP2 setup and revo svn and revo were installed and working fine. I have run out of ideas though I suspect it is something in Apache. Any pointers appreciated. Thanks.

    cheers/k

      I have the same problem on standard xampp 1.7.1 (latest) on windows. It stops after creating the tables with the same message, and when I check the tables they are there but all are empty.

      EDIT: I installed it in a completely fresh xampp and now it works... I could try finding out what the difference is that makes it work on one xampp but not the other...

        There have been many issues with using MySQL client API’s with MySQL 5.1.x servers; in fact, I don’t even have a working configuration with 5.1.x, but I suspect it is going to be related to this and/or the PDO drivers. Can you explain more about this:
        with a moded php_mysql.dll and php_mysqli.dll for use with MySQL 5.1.30+ and PHP 5.2.9+

          That is related to this post in the ApacheLounge forums. Basically, since PHP 5.2.9+ ATM does not support MySQL 5.1.30+, those php libraries have been compiled to enable these versions of PHP to work with the latest MySQL versions. So, rather than downgrade server MySQL to match the client MySQL APIs, these libraries enable an upgrade of the client MySQL APIs to match the server MySQL.

          Thanks.

            Hmmm, interesting, and I bet unless you also recompiled the PDO drivers, you’re going to run into problems with Revo. I knew this kind of crap would happen when big companies took over MySQL...

              I think for the time being I’ll just downgrade both client API and server MySQL, see if that works, in order to play with Revo svn and the latest addons as I search for the elusive solution to this issue.
