Should my fresh MODx Revolution install have Transport Providers already listed, or do I need to add them manually?

    Thanks,

It should have one, called "modxcms.com" with a service url of: http://modxcms.com/assets/provider.js

If you don’t have that, please check your core/cache/logs/error.log and your core/cache/setup for any error logs that might show the reason why not. Also, please list environment/server information.

Wow, now there is one there. It could be that the manager populates the data after page load and maybe the performance of the beta product does not allow for the population of the providers for several seconds after the section was expanded.

In any event, I see it now, so no issue.

        Thanks,

        Brian

While we are on the topic, does this mean that one who ports popular templates could actually become a provider and MODx admins could just browse templates from listed providers from within our Manager?

I think the above is correct, and wow! That would be really incredible. I suppose that a single repository might have advantages unless Package Management was searchable across providers.

Sorry, just kinda thinking in text.

Yes. The provider.js file is a provider based from modxcms.com’s Extras section.

Well, ideally, you’d have developers who are creating custom frameworks; say Wayfinder wanted a custom provider for its debug releases. It’s very similar to the way Eclipse does it. Also, you could use a provider for staging->production.

For most components, you’d just search modxcms.com. We verify the legitimacy of packages there; you’d only want to connect to a Provider you could trust.
