I have installed MODx Revolution 2.0.0-beta-1 and can see and install quite a few packages via "Package Management". However, Ditto does not appear in any of the categories. I am not behind a proxy and installed Revo on both a local OS X machine and a Centos 5.5 dev server. Same results. I had worked with ditto-2.1.2-alpha2 on the alpha 6 built of revo and expected to see it for this release.

Thought I could download it manually and can’t locate the file at wtf.modxcms.com.

My provider is pointed to http://modxcms.com/assets/provider.js

Anyone have a suggestion or is the necessary version not ready yet?

Congratulations on the Beta Release. The team has poured so much time and energy into it and I wanted to say thank you for your efforts.

Ditto is not currently on modxcms.com as available for Revolution 2.0.0-beta. We *might* convert it; but more than likely we’ll be working on our replacement for it.

Thanks for the update. I missed that referenced thread. I look forward to testing it, whatever "it" is. I wanted to start converting some 0.9.6.3 sites for testing but they all rely on ditto extensively. So I will just focus on reading the API instead.

          Rock on!

Without ditto there is not much point in me trying to convert any of my sites as I along with, I imagine, most people rely on it very heavily in our sites. Also where is Ajaxsearch for revolution, another important snippet missing in my opinion.

Apart from that it looks good, just need to figure out how contexts help me do subdomains now.

I don’t know if it’s a good idea to convert your live websites to Revo yet since it’s still in beta and not recommended for production sites. My thought would be that it’s better to wait until the stable release is out before you do any serious conversion. Revo beta has bugs and a lot of the snippets haven’t been converted yet.

I would recommend holding off anyway and just using Revo for testing and reporting bugs so that the development team can get it ready for stable release

Yes, sorry I didn’t mean convert my live site form a nice stable release of evolution to a buggy beta version of revolution with loads of missing snippets! I of course ment as a test, sorry if that wasn’t clear. My point still stands though, we HAVE to have ditto or at least a replacement before we can do any worthwile practical tests of revolution. To be honest I’m a bit dissapointed that it isn’t included in a beta release.

There is a version in development that we are using on modxcms.com itself and I’ll make sure it gets in the Extras/Provider as soon as possible, along with the alternative I am developing. Patience please, as I am also in the middle of moving starting this weekend, and our developer participation in creating Revo Extras has not yet caught any major traction. Hopefully, the recent release of beta and increasing documentation coverage in the near future will remedy this bottleneck.

I realise you guys are working incredibly hard, it wasn’t ment as a criticism, it’s just that I’m like a kid at Xmas waiting to play with a new toy, but without Ditto there’s not that much point for me yet. :-(.

There is still more than enough to keep this kid happy for the time being... Evo and Revo to play with... What’s not to love! grin

I wish you the best of luck with your move OpenGeek!
