I was trying to connect my Netbeans with MODx but was unable to do so...i want to connect my netbeans to MODx so that I can code everything in Netbeans (PHP) and it gets created in MODx..the code should be updated as I update it on my netbeans...It should create the same snippets, chunks n all other files..I have no idea how to integrate it...any help would be appreciated !!

You can create a new NetBeans project and point it to your MODx root directory -- that will let you edit all the MODx *files* in NetBeans (and optionally FTP them to a remote site), but there’s no way NetBeans can edit (or even know about) MODx objects like snippets, chunks, templates, TVs, etc. because they are in the MODx database, not in files. Allowing file-based objects is on the MODx roadmap but it may be a while before before it’s available.

Create a new project, select PHP Application with existing sources, choose your modx folder as the existing source. See screenshots...

Accessing the classes works great in PhpStorm. I gave up on NetBeans and Eclipse PDT.

This works for me most of the time in NetBeans (though the steps are inconvenient compared to PhpEd). Just right-click on the class name and select navigate->Go to declaration.

Bob and Jason are right, both IDEs allow you to find classes easily, but if you’re wanting to do something different then you’ll need to explain better. I really don’t know what you mean by "access the objects thru netbeans" or "code everything in Netbeans (PHP) and it gets created in MODx..the code should be updated as I update it on my netbeans...It should create the same snippets, chunks n all other files". It almost sounds like you’re wanting to run MODx inside the IDE. AFAIK most people, myself included, simply run a local web and database server for code development. Maybe if you can clarify what you are trying to do we can give you better answers.
