Installed the latest svn version today and all seemed to go well.

I installed Tinymce, but noticed that although Tinymce is set as the default editor in the config, when i create a new page there is no editor present. If i select Tinymce from the dropdown menu, the page loads for a second or two and again i’m not presented with any editor options/controls in the content box.

I had the same problem, I think it has something to do with the version of TinyMCE in the default provider I solved it by adding a new provider pointing to http://modxcms.com/assets/provider.js and installing the one from there.

I had this issue and reported it in Jira (reference is TINYMCE-4 I think.)

IIRC it had something to do with the "rich text" property not being set on new documents - try checking that option in your document and trying again.

Sorry I’m not of more help, I don’t have access to my Revo install atm.

I have now installed Beta3 and installed TinyMCE.

despite this being seleted in the config as the main editor and the documents selected as rich text, I still do not get to use TinyMCE when working with new documents.

I noticed this red text on the install:

            Error 23000 executing statement: INSERT INTO `modx_site_plugin_events` (`pluginid`, `evtid`, `priority`, `propertyset`) VALUES ('1', '87', '0', '0') Array ( [0] => 23000 [1] => 1062 [2] => Duplicate entry '1-87' for key 1 )

There are definitely issues with TinyMCE on install, but they don’t actually affect the performance of it in the manager.

The issue is already reported here: http://svn.modxcms.com/jira/browse/TINYMCE-8

I have the same problem.. tinymce install goes wonky.. but in the end it does show tinymce as installed.

tinymce is set as the default editor in the config, but still doesn’t show up when editing a document or creating new ones.

The thing is, when creating a new document I can select TinyMCE from the dropdown box. The page refreshes and I still get no editor.

Surely this is a major bug.

Ok I can put in all the html tags myself (in some ways this is easier for me), but this is meant to be one of the final beta versions so i’d expect it to be near ready. Afterall the scheduled release is fast upon us.

                    Yes, it is.

Well, you have a couple of incorrect assumptions there:

                    1. That TinyMCE is part of MODx Revolution - it’s not. It’s a 3rd-Party Component, or Extra, so it’s not directly managed by the core dev team. It’s completely separate. We provided a JIRA project for it since so many people use it - but the brunt of development effort for the TinyMCE extra lies on the MODx community - as it always has been.

                    2. That MODx Revolution in RC1 will have a bunch of perfectly working Extras - It may, it may not. This completely depends on how much the MODx developer community jumps in and develops those extras.

And the "scheduled release" is not really definite - it depends on many factors, such as community involvement, financial investment, developer adoption, bug fixing, and more. So far the Collabpad group is pretty heavily dependent on client work to pay bills atm, and since Jason and I are really the only ones so far actively making commits on Revolution, well, you get the idea. tongue

I appreciate your efforts - sorry for the assumptions
