    Hey guys,

I’m trying to figure out how to take my sites existing content (modx_site_content & modx_site_tmplvar_contentvalues) and import them into the new DB I created for revolution.

Here is where I am at:
    1. I got Revolution working fine. I was able to create templates, chunks and TV to make sure everything I was using in 9.6 is still in place.
    2. I replicated the two templates that I am using in 9.6 in Revolution and have made sure the ID’s of these match the old ones.
    3. I replicated the 3 TV’s I am using and made sure their ID’s matched.
    4. I exported the content (about 40K pages) of my existing 9.6 site and uploaded it using phpmyadmin. I can see the content in the DB but its not in the document tree. The weird thing here, if I go to "Recent Documents" from the home screen, I can see all the pages I uploaded through phpmyadmin.
    5. On one of the imported pages I changed (class_key) to web to see if that made it appear in the document tree, but that didn’t work.

I am just trying to figure out what makes these pages live so I have one to reference. My plan is to export the working page in CSV format and then modify my existing site in CSV format to match it. Hopefully after that I can just upload the CSV in phpmyadmin and have all my websites live and working.

I have not yet tried the TV (modx_site_tmplvar_contentvalues), but I assume I can just export those and import then in, and as long as the page IDs match, they will be correct?

Thanks in advance for the help!

First of all, you need to become familiar with Revolution. There are migration tools and documentation in the works, but as it is not officially even a beta product yet, this is not ready for prime-time. See this and this for discussions of content migration and tag format conversion.

Second, as discussed in the other thread, and many times in various topics on the subject of large sites with MODx, having 40,000 of anything amounts to repetition. You need to find the unique views of similar data you have to present and make those pages with snippets that dynamically render specific items from a custom database table of whatever it is you have 40,000 of. Revolution is not going to magically fix the limitations on the number of Resources you can throw into your site, but it does provide more ways to help you properly model, cache, and handle such data as your project demands.
