    Hi,

I’ve just installed the MODx Revolution 2.0.0-alpha-6 (Release Date: November 25, 2008) from the main Modx site. As I’m keen to see progress in relation to the interface design I proposed in January and how my proposed ideas (discussed at http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,29591.90.html) have been implemented where can I download the latest (most up to date install)?

I’d also like to know whether any of my ideas have been included and whether they will feature in the next release as seen on the main Modx site.

    Regards,

The latest revo is available from its SVN repo, have a look at this page for instructions http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Development+and+Testing+Notes on how to install this.
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

Much of it has been implemented though there is still a fair amount of cleanup work to go. Should be much further along once beta hits. We switched back to drop down menus to accommodate third-level fly out menus for the main menus.

            Thank Ryan,

I’ve been trying to install the SVN but seem to be running into issues. Will the installer be updated soon? or is there any online demo’s available.

            Thanks smiley

The installer should be working fine if your environment supports it. See here for more details on how to install and configure from the latest revision.

I forgot to increase the accessible Ram tongue

Looks good now, the admin looks good. When your closer to fine tuning the UI and need any new graphic assets, feedback or additional ideas do let me know smiley

                I’d be delighted to help.

I have spent some time, and am planning on spending some more time with the xdebug profiler on the package installation process soon to try and figure out some way to reduce the memory requirements without increasing the execution time. So far a solution has proven elusive.

I do have a fallback plan that will consist of an alternative setup step using sql files generated during a build (and parsed for variable replacement during execution); that will provide a fast and efficient way to get it installed on less robust environments. That said, the MODx Evolution branch would honestly be the better solution for environments limited to the default php.ini memory_limit of 8M (or even a slightly more generous 16M), as it’s overall memory footprint is much lower on small to medium sites (1 to 1000 documents).

marketing Evolution for small to medium sites seems sensible, it would give modx Revolution an Enterprise label for larger scaled developments.

I have to say that this mockup looks amazing.
I'm learning more about MODx all the time and loving it.
