where to find template parsing logic

I wanted to get a better understanding as to how the logic works for parsing templates/code - eg

how [!snippet?var=[*tv*]!] gets interpreted?

in the old MODx code its in document.parser.class.inc.php, correct?

Where is this code in the new Revolution structure?
