Ideas for code editor

I would love to have an editor like this for chunks and css files.
Maybe a php one can be easily implemented.

I don’t think a RTE like that would be any good for chunks, css, snippets and that sort. Better would be one that can color code the syntax. There are such plug-ins available for Evolution (EditArea and some others too, can’t remember their names) and no doubt Revolution will have some also at some point.

I have no idea how doable this might be, but it’s sweet.

Create an FTP interface for one’s local copy of Notepad++ (or better yet, the user’s personal favorite) to work through the modX manager.

It seems doable, limited only by the willingness of whoever owns the editors’ code base to participate. This could allow local mirroring of data seamlessly.

Just a thought.

If you use just php include to include some physical file from filesystem, you can use your own editor to edit the files over network. Also later on, Revolution will support elements from files (post 2.0).

Then there is for example Firefox addons like this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4125. With that, you can edit all text areas with your favourite editor just fine, it does the copy pasting for you.

Just a thought, maybe you can load chili as an extension with ManagerManager to highlight the syntax if the RTE is not set. This is no good for add-ons but may work for the main content area and TVs. Is there an event to insert code into the addon editing pages? If so a plugin could do this to all editing fields.
